A scant three miles from the Mediterranean the Pons-Massenot family farms the absurdly beautiful vineyards of Château Les Valentines. Located due east of Bandol, Les Valentines is home to organically farmed vineyards, some of which were planted in the early 1900s. They make their Cotes de Provence Rouge out of equal proportions of 60+ year old vine Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan. After time aging partially in 8000L barrels and partially in old Burgundy barrels, the wine is bottled and held at the winery until release. Tinted by classic Provincial aromas of rosemary, dried herbs, lavender, red fruits, and earth this wine is to be enjoyed now or over the next 5+ years.
